Pictures

We haven't been doing much these last couple of weeks.  For the 4th of July, we decided to just do nothing.  It was kind of nice not having any big plans.    Most of the day we were just hanging out at home watching Jaycee do her thing.  She is so much fun to watch.  I wonder all the time what she is thinking about when she sees something for the very first time.

We were playing into the evening, and heard all kinds of popping and noises and such, that we decided to go outside to see who was giving a fireworks show.  We have a pretty quiet neighborhood, but that night was anything but quiet.  The neighbors across the street from us must have spend a fortune, because they had fireworks that were like what you would see at the fair or something.  They went high in the air and were very LOUD!!!  Our other neighbors have teenagers and told us to come on over and watch those kids light fireworks in their driveway.  They were incredibly nice and loved holding Jaycee.  She is pretty good at letting most people hold her as long as we are close by.

We stayed out there until around 10:00.  I know it was late, but Jaycee was really enjoying the show and she didn't cry at all.  She did jump a few times, but she is pretty much a fearless kid at least right now.  I want her to have a healthy fear of things, but right now she just loves experiencing new things.

Here are several pictures I took of her in her room the morning of the 4th of July.  She is growing up so fast and doing so much that I can't keep up with her changes.  But we are figuring her out one day at a time and loving every minute of it (at least most of the time).

By the way, she is getting another tooth.  That will make 3 so far.

In our basement with daddy!!!!
We tried to teach her ping-pong, but not with much luck.

This is in her bedroom.  I had just rearranged her furniture earlier that week.
She just woke up from a nap.

In her rocking chair reading her favorite book
Are You My Mother

More of her favorite book.  She loves to turn the pages and laugh at the kitten and chicken in this book.
