About Us

Hi, I'm Mira.  This blog is all about me and my family and the many wonderful challenges life sometimes brings.  I used to spend my days teaching 3rd and 4th graders, and now have the amazing opportunity of staying home with my son and daughter.  My husband Tom has been my best friend for over 10 years and also shares my love for teaching.  He spends his days with middle school kids and has lots of fun stories to tell.  I'm daily striving to be the best person that God wants me to be and I'm daily learning that His plans for my life are not the same as mine, but I'm working at accepting what He has for me.

We are a family from a smaller town who once we were married moved to the city.  We enjoy having so many things close by.  We like sports of all kinds!!!  The Kansas Jayhawks are our favorite basketball team, and we spend our summers watching Tom play softball.  We like laughing, playing with our dog Mollie, reading all sorts of books, spending time with family & friends, finding cheap activities to do around town, working on projects around our house and so much more.

I'm progress at work ... daily striving to live out God's will for my life, while trying to balance my kids, keeping up a home, finding creative ways to earn extra income to help with the finances, participating in church groups, being a good friend and support for people to talk to, and trying to be creative with the gifts God has granted me.  I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Reeses, Pinterest, catching up with friends, attending Bible studies, thrift stores, reading, traveling, experiencing new activities with my kids, naps, crafts, meeting new people at church, throwing birthday parties for my family, and learning new things about myself.

I originally started this blog as a way to cope with my grief after losing our first son Caden.  You can read more about him under the Caden tab.  Since then this blog has become a place for me to record milestones, celebrations, and those little things that I don't want to forget.  Thanks for stopping by and getting to know us better.
