Reading List

Well, what do you do when your Spring Break brings rain, rain, and more rain?  I don't know about anyone else, but for me I have used this time to catch up on my reading.  Actually, I have started reading again for fun.  I used to read for fun all the time, but life happens and that is one of the things that gets pushed aside.

Since the weather has been kind of gloomy and we aren't able to do the outside things we are wanting to do, I decided that in my "free time"  I would start reading again for fun.  I have some really important goals that I have to accomplish over spring break, but it is nice to just have some time just to relax and have nothing really planned.

So I found a new book, which also happens to be part of a series that has totally taken up most of my free time, The Hunger Games.  What with the movie coming out this weekend, I have heard a lot about it and read the story line on the internet.  I was getting a few things in Wal Mart and saw the book there.  My curiosity got the best of me and I picked it up to read just the back cover, and then one thing led to another and it ended up in my shopping cart.  Who would have thought.  That was Sunday, and now I have 4 more chapters left which I predict I will be done with by the weekend.

Now, I usually would gravitate more towards a romance novel or something of that nature, but this book has a little bit of everything in it.  I have been talking about it so much that I think I have convinced Tom that he needs to read the book as well.  He isn't much of a reader of those kinds of things, but I think I may have him convinced.

So since this book is the first book in a three part series, you know that I will be sharing more about the series soon.  Hopefully I will get to see the movie after all of the new hype wears off.  I would love to give you a brief preview of the book, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for you.  So, if you are looking for a quick read that will hook you and capture your attention, try out The Hunger Games (it was really cheap at Wal Mart).

I'm with you...not my normal type of read, but I read through all books very quickly! Very captivating. I talked Mark into reading it too, and he enjoyed it as much as I did! We saw the movie together this past weekend. : )
